Each classroom uses the Extron System7 controller. Instructions for using this controller are available at every teaching station.
Nearly all of our classrooms have a full set of presentation equipment, including a PC, a Mac, laptop connections, a CD/DVD/VHS player, audio system and data projector.
Some classrooms have slide projectors or document cameras, and most have overhead projectors. These rooms are scheduled by the Registrar's office.
Explore usage and creation of all types of media for learning and beyond. The MEC has support for flatbed & slide scanning, poster and color printing, audio, video & animation production, digital sending, copy-stand work, video conferencing, and more. It's the primary location for individual or small group training and support. The MEC is open weekdays, 9-5 with staffed "drop-in" support hours from 10 AM - noon and 2 -5 PM weekdays. Additional OIT Supported Media Production or Collaborative Work Studios:The Recording studio, previously in Stetson, has been moved to Dodd Annex along with the equipment loan center and a faculty helpdesk. It will open in late September '08. The recording studio is adequate for a small vocal group, for interviews, or for recording audio. It is frequently used by language faculty preparing audio for classes. There is an editing station in the same room for postproduction use. To reserve the recording studio, call x4091.
These facilities are open to the Williams College community. You must have a College ID and password to use the computers. The faculty media studios in Jesup 316 and Stetson F18 are open to students under special circumstances, and the specialty labs (GIS, music composition, and other department-specific spaces) are limited to students enrolled in particular courses.
